Same thing happened a while back when the US dropped bits of Skylab on Australia. Some material burns up, some larger chunks splash into the ocean. With the capability of carrying a maximum 140,600 pounds of payload to Low Earth Orbit, the Falcon Heavy performance is far and above that of comparable launch vehicles. Like Falcon 1, Falcon 5 would u'pressure assisted stabilized' graduated monocoque friction stir-welded aluminum design with a common bulkheadbetween its aft kerosene tank and its forward liquid oxygen tank. Like the Falcon 9 rocket, the Falcon Heavy first stage and second stage burn a combination of liquid oxygen and RP-1 (kerosene) fuel. You do not want your rocket stage to blow up, as it creates an uncontrolable swarm of debris and includes the risk that particles are ejected into orbits where they do not decay quickly, adding to the space debris risk.Īs for burning up, it's a bit of both. Two upgraded Keengines would boost the second stage, producing nearly 6.8 tonnes of total thrust. Like the Falcon 9 rocket, the Falcon Heavy first stage and second stage burn a combination of liquid oxygen and RP-1 (kerosene) fuel. The launch was the second of the day from. The fuel tanks were 60 longer, making the rocket more susceptible to bending during flight. EDT (2308 GMT) Thursday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The second stage of the Falcon 9 has 1 Merlin 1D Vacuum engine version. > Depressurization and fuel venting avoids the risk of the rocket stage blowing up, for example as a result of static electricity building up in the rocket stage. The second stage tank of Falcon 9 is simply a shorter version of the first-stage tank and uses most of the same tooling, material and manufacturing techniques. Watch on South Korea’s first mission to the moon lifted off at 7:08 p.m. Once its work is done, this excess fuel is often vented, also known as "depressurization". So it always has a sufficient fuel margin. > Rocket stages always carry excess fuel, as you don't want the engine to cut out prematurely by running out of fuel. With uprated first- and second-stage engines, a larger second-stage propellant tank, and propellant densification, the vehicle can carry substantial payloads to geostationary orbit and perform a propulsive landing for recovery. The fuel dump is to prevent explosions before reentry that could damage the spacecraft it just delivered or create unnecessary space debris. The helium is routed through the second stage’s Merlin engine, where the helium warms up and is injected into the rocket’s propellant tanks to pressurize the stage as the launcher burns fuel, keeping the tanks structurally sound. Starting in 2017, previously flown first-stage boosters were reused to launch new payloads into orbit. SpaceX routinely flies two versions of its Falcon 9 rocket, one to carry NASA cargo to the International Space Station and one to lift satellites into Earth orbit. Some of the required technology advances, such as landing legs, were pioneered on the Falcon 9 v1.1 version, but that version never landed intact. On a typical Falcon 9 launch, the first stage engines burn for 162 seconds, and the second stage engine burns for 397 seconds. Like the Falcon 9 rocket, the Falcon Heavy first stage and second stage burn a combination of liquid oxygen and RP-1 (kerosene) fuel. The rocket can carry a composite fairing or a Dragon capsule, depending on mission requirements. The landing followed a technology development program conducted from 2013 to 2015. Fully fueled, the rocket has a total mass of 3.125 million pounds at launch. On April 8, 2016, the Full Thrust version of the Falcon 9 family was the first launch vehicle on an orbital trajectory to successfully vertically land a first stage. The Local Site Folder field allows you to enter information regarding where you’ll be working with your files during development. Next, you need to set up a local root folder, which is where Dreamweaver stores the files with which you’re currently working. In the Site Name text field, type Organic Utopia. The Servers, Version Control, and Advanced Settings options allow you to set up local, remote, and testing servers directly.ġ Launch Dreamweaver CC, if it is not already open, then choose Site > New Site. The options available here will help guide you through the essentials of defining your site. In this lesson, you begin by using the Site Setup dialog box to accomplish the following tasks:īy default, the Site Setup dialog box opens with the Site Settings available. This and other functions of the Manage Sites dialog box are discussed later in this book. You can also use the Manage Sites dialog box to create a new site. One way to access this dialog box is by choosing Site > New Site from the menu bar. The easiest way to create a standard new site in Dreamweaver is to use the Site Setup dialog box. However, we do not cover setup of Business Catalyst sites in this book. Business Catalyst is a part of the Creative Cloud service that Adobe provides (for a fee) that allows you to connect your website with analytic software and other features. Dreamweaver CC can also be used to setup and manage a Business Catalyst Site. To take full advantage of Dreamweaver’s features, you should always start by creating a site. A site can also include a testing server location for processing dynamic pages. In Dreamweaver, the term site refers to the local and remote storage locations where the files that make up a website are stored. If you don't have the book, you can use your own sample files. This chapter references lesson files from the Dreamweaver Digital Classroom book. See “Resetting the Dreamweaver workspace” in the Starting up section of this book. Starting upīefore starting, make sure that your tools and panels are consistent by resetting your workspace. And, once your Dreamweaver site is complete, you can efficiently manage and distribute it from within the program. The pages you create within your site can share similar topics, a cohesive design, or a common purpose. You can use the software to create everything from individual pages to complete websites. It is the second lesson in the Adobe Dreamweaver CC Digital Classroom book. This tutorial provides you with a foundation for working with Adobe Dreamweaver. What you’ll learn in this Dreamweaver Tutorial: Graphic Design for High School Students. The Layout Float Blind was conceived with this focus in mind.Īs you might already know, the newest reserve to release for theHunter: Call of the Wild is Finland’s Revontuli Coast, and with it, the Waterfowl Rework. One way we do this is by creating different types of experiences that allow the game to be played in various ways. Why did we choose the Layout Float Blind?Ī Game Designer’s job is to add value for the player. I’m here to present a classic “How it’s Made” episode, and today’s star of the show is the humble Layout Float Blind. Some of you might know me from such classics as “ The Stream about the Bloodhound” and “ Behind the Scenes: Developing the Bloodhound”. Only tradeoff is gun must be pointed back instead of forward, but I had no problem with that for the one season I used that design. My name is Arshak Ardeshir, Senior Game Designer on theHunter: Call of the Wild. This is a very quick and robust way to get good concealment, without having to worry about doors getting in the way when paddling. But when you want to hunt, first panel covers up to your waist, and 2nd panel folds down and rests on your chest. So, when you want to get in, the 2nd panel folds back to lay on top of the 1st, and then the first panel can hinge up, leaving plenty of room for you to get in/paddle. The first one hinges about at your knees and comes up to your waist. Picture 2 square panels that are roughly the same width as the kayak. Next, and this might be a bit difficult to explain in writing, is to make not a flip open door, but a flip down door. All of this so far is fairly standard for how we do our kayaks. At the base by your feet, build a small frame out of conduit. Checkout our YouTube videos under KayakGuys to get some visual ideas! However, for how you have described your use, I would recommend doing this design.Ĭut the top and molded seat out and replace with a layout seat (like the MoMarsh style or something similar). Over the past 3 seasons we have tried out about 5 different designs. I have two pelican trailblazer kayaks and my brother has one as well. Just lay out your boat and get creative, hopefully it helps. It isn’t the prettiest thing in the world but it looks like a brush pile when all done and I have killed lots of ducks out of mine. I added a few zip tie loops to the top of the netting that I put natural sticks or vegetation in the zip ties when I get to where I am paddling to. Then I weaves the bungee cord through the netting of the flaps using zip ties to secure it( that way I can close the flaps when there is stuff inside). Than I cut out the area for the cockpit, and the hatch leaving the cut material as flaps. After that I zip ties a second layer of netting to the first one making the holes smaller. I laid the kayak on the floor laid the netting over top of it, Strung the paracord around the perimeter of the kayak weaving it in and out of the netting. I used camo netting, zip ties, piracies, strong braided fishing line, and a bungee cord. It'll get close, but a rattle can/flat or camo style finish on the yak will help immensely! I say this in case you're expecting it to hide a neon plastic yak. So even with all the fabric and burlap sewn on to it, if the wind moves it you can see through the mesh to whatever's underneath. If you're not hunting out of the yak and looking to hide it while you hunt from somewhere else, you could use just about anything.ĮTA - it's not going to "hide" a bright yellow yak - the base fabric is like an olive brown-ish decoy bag type material, like those 20$ Herter's jobs that are all nylon mesh. You might want to grab a short coat so your legs/waders are covered and keep your upper body "shaggied" up as well, if you're planning on shooting out of the yak (say it's tucked in the reeds or something). Make sure you dry it out good when you're done - it'll stink terrible if you don't (from experience).Īnother thought - the yak would be hidden fine, but you'll stick out like a sore thumb if you use regular camo on top of it. If you're going to retrieve it'd probably be fine, but if you have a long way to go I'd take it put it on once I got where-ever I was going, and take it off when leaving. What's going to suck is paddling all that crap out and back as it drags in the water. Rub some mud into it like you'd do a layout and it' just melts away. I drug my coat behind a 4 wheeler to "soften" the cuts on the fabric up and fuzz out the jute/burlap. It's made to get messed up - if anything it'll look better once it's messed up. It was the day after quarterback Brett Favre's father died unexpectedly. Notable games: The first time the teams met was in Super Bowl II, which the Packers won 33-14, but for pure emotion, Dec. Last time they played: Packers won 31-20 on Dec.For what it's worth, Vince Lombardi's first game was a 9-6 win over the Bears. It was an ugly game by all accounts, but provided new head coach Matt LaFleur a victory in his first game after replacing Mike McCarthy (by way of interim coach Joe Philbin). The Packers defeated the Bears 10-3 on Sept. 9, 2014, when he tied his own and Matt Flynn's record of six touchdown passes in a 55-14 Packers romp. Like Brett Favre, Rodgers has had some of his best games against the Bears, including on Nov. Notable games: There are a lot, but last year's season opener, when Aaron Rodgers led a 24-point second-half comeback for a 24-23 Packers victory, ranks among the best. This year: The Packers won 10-3 on Sept.Last year: Packers won 24-23 Bears won 24-17.Here are the all-time records against the teams on the 2019 schedule, how the Packers did the last time they played each team, and some highlights from previous meetings. The Packers finished 13-3 for the regular season and continue their domination against opponents on the 2019 schedule, and for the first time in three years, the Packers clinched a playoff berth. The Packers in that time won 13 NFL championships, the most of any team in the league, but they are coming off two losing seasons and have a new head coach for the first time in 14 years. That means nothing when the teams get on the field this season, of course, but it does show how dominating the Packers have been as they play their 101st year of football. The Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs won more games against the Packers than they lost at the start of the season, but the Packers defeated the Broncos 27-16 on Sept. GREEN BAY – Only one opponent on Green Bay's 2019 schedule has a winning record against the Packers, who have a 54 percent all-time winning percentage against their 13 opponents. Even if Janelle just ends up going home next week, we’d be none the poorer.Ĩ:59 p.m. And it’ll be perfectly cool by me if the judges use The Save. After the nationwide vote… JANELLE ARTHUR is in danger. What would be the point in NOT just using it? It’s there. Is there any reason why the judges wouldn’t use it tonight just for fun? There’s no way it’s available next week, so why not just get another week out of this Top 5. They’re joined by Amber Holcomb, who does an effective job of looking shocked at that result. I think that even if this is “in no particular order,” an Angie/Candice finale makes a lot of sense. The second person advancing is… Angie Miller. The first person safe is… Candice Glover. She gets a rise out of Nicki Minaj’s Thong and brings Keith Urban to his feet well before the end of the song.Ĩ:52 p.m. Fantasia remains Fantasia, which I find reassuring. That’s why some people hate her and that’s why she hasn’t necessarily had the success she deserved and deserves.Ĩ:48 p.m. I know that’s not a popular opinion, but to me, she’s the most unique and distinctive vocalist the show has ever produced. As I say every time she returns: Fantasia remains my favorite “Idol” winner. There’s something very touching and bittersweet in hearing LaToya reflect on how Fantasia and J-Hud’s dreams have come true, when you know she wishes her own dreams were moving a bit faster.Ĩ:44 p.m. And now she’s trying to revive her solo singing career. And that’s when America sent Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson packing. Jimmy thinks Kree made bad song choices last night. He loved both performances and expects that Amber will be “rewarded for her bravery.” Mariah says Amber belongs some place above the Top 2.Ĩ:36 p.m. Amber was so mediocre in her first performance last night and so good in her second performance. Amber Holcomb and her short-shorts is up next. Well, Jimmy may not have liked “Dumb Blonde,” but Dolly Parton calls Janelle “talented and special,” but doesn’t say a word about the actual performance.Ĩ:34 p.m. Jimmy Iovine thought “Dumb Blonde” was a strikeout when Janelle needed a home run. Clay is singing “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Does this mean he doesn’t have any new material coming at any point? Hmmm… I guess a couple of the returning favorites have sung classics, rather than new stuff. He put a lot of effort into mentioning UNICEF multiple times. Clay Aiken Time! He’s been doing work around the world on behalf of children. Jordin Sparks puts the responsibility on Jason.Ĩ:23 p.m. Fallout Boy is in the crowd, as is Jordin Sparks! And Jason Derulo! “When’s the wedding,” Ryan asks. She also congratulates the judges and America for producing an all-female Top 5. Randy was unable to get Paula Abdul’s feedback on Candice’s rendition of “Straight Up” so he’s forced to… OMG! It’s Paula Freaking Abdul!!!! This is nearly as cool as last week’s Dunkleman shout-out. Jimmy was worried about Candice’s ability to top “Love Song” and he wasn’t impressed with her first performance. Because there are no results for Angie.Ĩ:16 p.m. So we’re just doing recaps individually, not results. “Jimmy has no idea what he’s talking about,” Nicki says, insisting that the performance of “Halo” was a 10-out-of-10.Ĩ:15 p.m. Jimmy bought Angie’s first performance, but felt that she was less believable on her rendition of “Halo.” Nicki is not impressed. We’re doing the results “individually” tonight, whatever that means. In this one, they have to hug Matthew Morrison. It’s weird, because in the first “mission,” they had to do community service of some sort. I can’t articulate how much I hate the Ford Festiva Missions. Yes, Candice, I’m looking at you.Ĩ:10 p.m. Some of the interactions are amusingly awkward, because a couple of the women in the Top 5 aren’t capable of spontaneous on-camera flirting. Perhaps to mock the departed five men, the ladies have each been paired with a male backup singer/dancer. The nice thing about having a Top 5 in which everybody can sing is that they sing reasonably well together. This week’s Group Lip Synch is a Donna Summer medley. We’ve got Clay Aiken and Fantasia coming up tonight. Did you know that every member of the Top 5 was a GIRL!?!? Now you do.Ĩ:02 p.m. I could look at all of the remaining singers and make an argument for how they might score the “Idol” crown, but I could also easily list weaknesses for all five. Having dispatched with five underwhelming men, it’s time for America to get down to the more difficult business of picking a winner from this extremely solid all-female Top 5. Thinking about the atomic, and even the subatomic scale. That I've always found amazing about chemistry, it's an entire field of science that we as human beings have developed to actually understand what is happening in an almost unimaginably small scale. Keep in mind for percentages to be used in a calculation like this they need to be in decimal form. For this calculation we multiply the masses by their percentages and sum them up to find the weighted average. This means that certain isotope's atomic masses contribute more to the element's average mass than other isotopes.įor the hypothetical element Sal is describing, 80% of the element's atoms have an atomic mass of 5 amu, while only 20% have an atomic mass of 6. For average atomic mass, the isotopes of an element are found in difference abundances or amounts in nature. The difference between the two types of averages is that an arithmetic average are of equal importance, but a weighted average takes into account the importance of some values over others. But for average atomic mass we're calculating a weighted average. It we wanted the arithmetic average then it would be 5.5 because (5+6)/2 = 5.5. Also, scientists needed a pure isotope to base the system on. Scientists used carbon-12 because no other atom has exact whole-number masses in the amu scale. This is why the mass of carbon-12 is 12 amu, not 12.09. Some of the mass of the atom gets converted into binding energy, so the mass of the entire nucleus would actually be less than the mass of each individual proton and neutron added together. Because of energy-mass equivalence (E = mc^2), we know that energy and mass are interchangeable. Binding energy is the energy that holds the nucleus together. Since the nucleus is full of protons, which has positive charge, they would repel and the nucleus would fly apart. The missing mass is called mass defect, and it represents the binding energy. Following this logic, the carbon-12 atom's atomic mass should actually be 12.09 amu however, the mass is exactly 12 amu. So the mass of a proton is around 1.008 amu, not 1. The relative abundance of Deutrium (1 proton, 1 neutron) is so small that it is barely accounted for when calculating the average atomic mass. Protium is by far the must abundant isotope of hydrogen, and it only contains 1 proton, and no neutrons. The average atomic mass for hydrogen is actually around 1.008 amu. But after isotopes were discovered (oxygen-17, oxygen-18, etc), everything got really confusing, so scientists agreed to use carbon-12. We cultivate excellence, deliver value, enhance education, and engage the public.Good question that requires a kind of long explanation!Ī long time ago, the standard for measuring average atomic mass was actually based on oxygen, and scientists thought all oxygen was oxygen-16 (8 protons, 8 neutrons). NRAO also provides both formal and informal programs in education and public outreach for teachers, students, the general public, and the media. Observing time on NRAO telescopes is available on a competitive basis to qualified scientists after evaluation of research proposals on the basis of scientific merit, the capability of the instruments to do the work, and the availability of the telescope during the requested time. NRAO telescopes are open to all astronomers regardless of institutional or national affiliation. Operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc.įounded in 1956, the NRAO provides state-of-the-art radio telescope facilities for use by the international scientific community.
